Positions at Baxter State Park

INTERPRETIVE SPECIALIST

This is professional services work in developing educational and interpretive programs for Baxter State Park regarding the natural, scientific, and cultural history of Baxter State Park. Work includes collecting, evaluating, and interpreting materials to be included in the educational programs that will be useful to all age groups of park visitors and will promote awareness of natural and cultural history and outdoor ethics and public safety. The Interpretive Specialist reports directly to the Park Naturalist. Work is performed under limited supervision. Applications will be accepted from December 30, 2015 to January 28, 2016.

BAXTER PARK SEEKS CHIEF RANGER

Baxter State Park is seeking an knowledgeable and motivated outdoorsperson with a broad background in front and backcountry outdoor recreation management, natural resource preservation and protection and employee supervision. The Baxter Park Chief Ranger works under the supervision of the Park Director and will join a small and dedicated administrative team working to manage Maine's largest wilderness. SECRETARY

Part-time Secretary (20 hours per week)
PAY GRADE: 12: ($12.37-17.33/hr.)

This is part-time (20 hours per week – 52 weeks per year) office and administrative support work in assisting an individual(s) with basic administrative details including responsibility for performing complex clerical tasks. Work consists of routine secretarial support services which require a general knowledge of office processes and administrative functions. Responsibilities require independent decision-making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures.
